We Believe

"Watch your life and your doctrine closely. Persevere in them,

because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." - 1 TIMOTHY 4:16

God

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.

Scripture

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write words of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible is without error.

Mankind

We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.

Church

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer will mature and become conformed to the image of Christ.

Salvation

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment of his sin.

The Holy Spirit
Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible’s lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters.

Christian Life

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer will mature and become conformed to the image of Christ.

Marriage

We believe marriage is the uniting of one natural-born biological male and one natural-born biological female in a single, exclusive, and loving union as delineated in the Scriptures. It is God’s unique gift that exists to foster the sole manner for holy, intimate, and sexual companionship; to serve as an illustration of the relationship between Christ and His church; and to create and raise children in the faith.

Our Accountability

Enon Church is guided by a Church and Pastor’s Council but led by a Pastoral Staff. The Council is made up of lay leaders within Enon Church. Our denominational affiliation is with the Church of God, based out of Cleveland, TN. There are more than 7 million members of this organization worldwide, in over 180 countries. The Church of God provides an additional layer of accountability for our church and Lead Pastor. We are under the leadership of overseers at the district, state, and national level. They provide legal and relational support for the church, as well as protect the integrity of our theology and doctrine.
